Isabelle Sigrid is a multimedia artist and storyteller based in Asheville, North Carolina. Growing up in Seattle, Washington, Isabelle spent her early years steeped in comics, gearing her focus towards narrative and autobiographical arts. Isabelle’s work explores the relationship between collective and personal myths. As an undergraduate at Bard College, she studied film with Peter Hutton whose teaching propelled her into experimental animation. After receiving her BA, Isabelle began to work as an arts educator in schools and arts organizations in New York City, Seattle and North Carolina. Her work has been featured in and commissioned by clients including Antenna Press, SAW Comics, Desert Island Comics, the ACLU, Dyke March NYC, the Future Perfect Project, and Vogue.com.
